Spots still available in Boeing Science Class!

We still need a few more sign ups to ensure that our Boeing science class will be a go, starting next week.  If you have an interested 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student, and have not yet signed up, please email bcordray@nsd.org.  We need about 5 more students to have enough to continue with the class.  More info below:

Sunrise Elementary, in partnership with Washington Alliance for Better Schools and the Boeing Company, will have after-school science enrichment classes this fall.  Classes will be taught by Boeing engineers and are open to students in grades 4, 5, and 6.

The Boeing volunteers have been trained to present a special curriculum designed to enhance and align with state standards.  The curriculum incorporates hands-on inquiry- and activity-based learning.  It is designed to foster interest in, and to reinforce, science concepts.

The science curriculum will include:  Flipsticks, Roto-copters, Spinning Blimps, Fabulous Foam Flyers, Static Strokes, Balance Your Charge Account

Classes will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 3:15-4:15 in room 112.

Mrs. Vacchio will be present to work with the Boeing volunteers. Classes are scheduled to begin October 9.
