Sunrise students are sorting their trash into recyclable and compostable products. With the addition of the new yellow compostable collection bins, we are reducing the amount of garbage that goes to the landfill. In one week, we collected 247 pounds of compostable material! This material turns into reusable compost that would have otherwise been trash. Way to go GREEN!! Thanks Green Team for helping us all learn to sort our trash.
Also, watch for the Sunrise Spring Compost Sale starting April 22nd (right after Spring Break). We will sell bagged Cedar Grove Compost, made from compostable material (like material from our yellow bins). The proceeds from the sale will support our Food Waste Collection Program.
