Be a Part of our Fall Fundraising Campaign

Your Sunrise elementary PTA is embarking upon a new style of fundraising this school year and we need your help!

Our goal is to raise $25,000 during the month of October.  This is a great time to give, as many employers will match your donations dollar-for-dollar.  To reach this goal, we are asking families to give $200, that’s less than $17 per month, to fund programs that are integral to our children’s academic life.

In the past, we have relied upon small fundraising events and activities as well as a spring auction every other year.  Now, we simply appeal directly to all Sunrise families to give what they can to support the many academic, artistic, musical and social programs that the Northshore School District cannot fund.

Did you know?   Science

  • Sunrise PTA funds the Science Program and lab classroom.
  • Our school is uniquely privileged to offer students a science curriculum taught by a content specialist – an educator whose sole responsibility is to craft lesson plans and lab experiences that inform science learning.  Both our science resources and delivery model are exclusive to Sunrise.
  • The Science program is now available to full-day kindergarten and extends through 6th grade.
  • Sunrise students consistently receive top scores in science on state tests, even when tracked in junior and senior high.
  • We are at great risk to lose our dedicated science program in 2015 if we cannot provide the necessary funds, $38,000 annually.

Did you know?  Theater, Music and Dance

  • Sunrise PTA sponsors the fall musical theater production – our beloved school play.
  • Produced in partnership with Studio East’s ArtReach! program, we offer students a six-week after school residency, working with professionals to experience the collaborative effort, courage, and discipline required to engage in the performing arts.

Did you know?  Fine Arts

  • Sunrise PTA funds our Art Docent program.
  • With the help of dedicated parent volunteer educators, Sunrise provides students with not only lessons designed to foster their individual creativity and artistic skill, but additionally focuses on the history and significant cultural impact of the world’s great visual artists.
  • Sunrise PTA produces our annual Spring Art Night, a community celebration and showcase for the remarkable works of art our students produce throughout the year.

Did you know? School Library

  • Sunrise PTA offers significant financial support to our school’s library, hosting guest author visits, sponsoring two book fairs annually, as well as supplementing the general library budget.

And so much more….

  • Math Club-Math Olympiad
  • School assemblies
  • Teacher classroom funds
  • Back-to-school family events
  • School dance
  • After school enrichment programs
  • And so much more!

Please, consider making your donation to the Sunrise PTA today.

Three Ways to Give:

  1.   Donate…and   make a request to be matched
Send in your recommended $200 donation, then request an employer match   through your Corporate Match program.    Checks can be dropped off in the PTA Bin in the school office.  Click here to donate via Paypal.
  2.   Submit   a payroll pledge through your organization’s United Way or Giving Campaign
Contact your employer for more information.  If you are a Microsoft Employee, email Jen   Guadagno with any questions (alias =   jengua).
  3.   Ask your   employer to match your PTA volunteer hours
Some companies will match dollars for   time you spend volunteering for an eligible charity.  For instance, Microsoft will pay $17/hour   (annual minimum of 4 hours) to the Sunrise PTA for every volunteer hour. (Please   note, time you volunteer in the classroom is not eligible for a match as the   Northshore School District is not a qualified charitable organization.)
