Welcome back, Sunrise Families! Your PTA fundraising team is already busy planning this year’s fall fundraising campaign.
As many of you know, Sunrise Elementary is in the unique position of having a dedicated science program, taught by a specialist in our science lab, which is funded entirely through PTA funds. What this means to our community is that, in addition to all the wonderful programs that the PTA supports, we are also responsible for contributing to the science program and providing lab supplies.
Last October, your PTA embarked upon a new style of fundraising – asking each family to contribute toward our goal to fund programs that are integral to our children’s academic life. This “pass-the-hat” model replaces any other fundraisers like the auction or student sales. This fall, we will be appealing to all Sunrise families to contribute what they can toward our goal of raising $25,000 by the end of October 2014.
Your dollars will go directly toward funding:
- Science Program and lab classroom
- School play, partnered with Studio East
- Art Docent program and Art Night
- School Library (including author visits and book fairs)
- Future playground improvements
- Family Fall Fiesta
- School Dance Week
- Before and after school enrichment
- School Assemblies
- Teacher’s classroom funds
- And so much more!
Your PTA fundraising team will be communicating with you throughout the months of September and October with additional information about how your dollars contribute to our school, as well as how you can increase the impact of your donation through employer match, volunteer hours and affiliate programs like PCC, Amazon, Top Foods, Everything Party, Target REDcard and more.
If you would like to make your donation early, here are a few ways to give:
- Drop off a check for “Sunrise Elementary PTA” to the PTA bin in the school office.
- Contribute via the Sunrise Elementary PTA website. Simply click the “Donate” button on the homepage.
- Stop by our fundraising table at your student’s curriculum night or the Family Fall Fiesta on Friday, September 19th.
- Don’t forget to request an employer match if your company provides this benefit!
